Liberty Bell: Yep, pretty much all it’s cracked up to be.

Bob and Jen at the Liberty Bell

Today in Philadelphia, Jen and I did some touristy stuff while Christine worked in the morning. First, we hiked down to the Liberty Bell. There was a bunch of information about it, and then, there, in front of us, was the Liberty Bell. So that was neat and all, but it’s a bell. I was expecting a little bit more with all the hassle we had to go through at the security checkpoint. It was easier for me to get on the plane to come here.

Afterwards, we went back to the Reading Terminal Market, a giant market featuring produce, meat, restaurants, books, etc, etc, etc. It’s a really cool place and really busy. We ate next door at the Independence Brewpub: good food, bitchy service. Exactly 10% (before tax) tip.

After scoring a great deal on some Nike Shox at the mall (and Jen and Christine scoring great deals in other stores), we went to Cuba Libre for dinner. Good Cuban eating + good service = 20% tip. Mmmmm, mojitos!

  1. Everytime Bob, everytime. Brought out the bad laugh yet again. Who can not laugh at a crack joke about the bell with a giant crack!?! Everytime.
