For Valentine’s Day, Bob surprised me by taking me to this new Italian restaurant, Trattoria Brannica, down by Frontenac for dinner last. He had made the reservations two weeks ago and would not tell me anything about it, type of food, area where it was located, nothing. He knew that I would somehow find out if he gave me any sort of clue. Mum was the word. So, for two weeks, I would sporadically shout out restaurant names, with no luck. Finally, I found out last night. It was a wonderful, romantic atmosphere. The clientele were slightly older than us (average age of 60) but it didn’t phase us one bit. Bob ordered the veal chop while I had the filet. Delicious. An hour later, we ended up at home in our PJs, watching the Olympics. A perfect evening. And of course, my usual 1 pound of chocolate covered strawberries were there for dessert.
Say “Happy Birthday” to Erin! She’s a Valentine’s Day baby! Make sure you get lots of free drinks when you go out tonight, tell them it’s your birthday!
This past weekend, Bob and I made a very grown-up purchase: a new stove! Now, who’s excited? We are! Okay, so there was nothing wrong with our old stove except for the fact that it was old and fugly and I really wanted a shiny, black flattop one. So, we went to Krissy and purchased the stove from her. The price was right due to a slight dent on the right side, but really, who’s going to see that anyways? It was her first sale at her new location and our first stove purchase. Let’s celebrate, it was a momentous occasion for all parties involved. Now, does this mean that we’re going to bake and cook more? Yeah, I don’t think so. Who wants an old stove, it still works! It’s free! Any takers? Anyone?
Breed: Bull Mastiff
Weight: 65-70 Pounds
Age: 6 Months
Signature Move: Booty Bulldozer
Meet Dixie. Awww, isn’t she sweet? Can you believe that when this puppy is only 6 MONTHS OLD? Right now she is short enough to walk under Kuma but not for long. Somehow, whenever Chris is dogsitting, these dogs end up over here at our house. She claims it is to give Kuma someone to play with, I think it is so that Bob and I will end up watching the dog while she sleeps and eat. Due to Dixie’s size, I was a little afraid that Kuma would not like the situation much, but after a couple of intimidating barks to let everyone know who’s boss (Kuma), I let her loose and it was doggie grunts, sniffs, playful growls and slobber for the rest of the day.
Since Dixie is all braun and has no agility whatsoever, she has the Booty Bulldozer. This is where she turns her back onto Kuma and walks backwards to pin Kuma against the couch with her butt. As you watch this move in action, you can just hear the “beep, beep” of a truck backing up. From previous wrestling matches, Kuma has the Death Roll but unfortunately, that move did not phase Dixie one bit, as shown above. Total whiff.
So, to compensate for that, Kuma had utilized her speed and agility to gain the full advantage in tough situations. Whenever there was a pin, whether on the ground or against the couch, Kuma would just wiggle and run and poor Dixie couldn’t keep up. Running up and down the hall, Kuma would lap Dixie a couple of times, even leaping over her if she was in the way.
At the end of the day, both were just pooped out which means that it was another successful doggie play day at the Sherron household.
Who’s excited about the Winter Olympics? 418 hours recorded on Moxi, we won’t miss a thing! Life is wonderful!
