A Weekend with the Doyles

Our Future, Maybe?, originally uploaded by Cracker and Cheese.

A few weeks ago, we headed down to Wichita to see Freddie, Laura and Alexander. It’s been over a year since we last saw them and it is just incredible how much changes when it comes to babies. Last time we saw him, I think he was 5-6 months old. He laid there, cried, tried to move around, giggled when you made faces at him. Now, a year later, he’s running (never walking), jumping around, talking (more gibberish than actual words), engaged and eager to get into everything he can get his little hands on. There were moments when Bob’s beer bottle walked away from the side table, we had to save Lappy from being slimed and food was being eaten off plates without us knowing. Wow, I was exhausted after a weekend with this little guy. But he’s such a sweet baby, not very shy when it comes to new people. Alexander was very comfortable hanging out with Bob and me, as long as Mom wasn’t too far away so he can keep an eye on her. We were still able to pig out on loads of junk food and play dominoes for hours each night, we just had to modify the schedule a bit. It’s always great to see the Doyles, Alexander, you’re too adorable! We’ll see you next year!
