I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday night than by by gorging on sushi and then partying the night away with beer, cupcakes and karaoke for a friend’s surprise thirtieth birthday.
Before the party actually started, a group of us decided to try out the sushi place, Blue Sea. We had heard that they had an all-you-can-eat sushi menu and draft beer but when we got there, they had discontinued the all-you-can-drink portion. But that’s okay, that did not stop us from doing this:
Yep, six people tackled that monstrosity and then did this:
Unfortunately, our brain caught up to our stomachs and we were so full that we all waddled out of the place extremely satisfied and ready for a nap. Now the Blue Sea is definitely not the fanciest sushi restaurant but I think it’s a great value for the amount of food that we ordered and it was pretty good. I can eat my weight in sushi so now I have a place to go where it won’t cost me my home.
Then: on to Gas House! We got there early to set up decorations and lay in wait. Once the birthday boy arrived, the party started. There was karaoke:
And conversation:
A candle on a cupcake:
And plenty of group shots:
Perhaps the highlight of the night, musically, was Doug performing “Chocolate Salty Balls,” as made famous by Chef from South Park.
By the end of the night, our exhaustion was well-earned. Happy birthday, Matt!
